In this photograph, the shape of Detroit Dragway can be seen very well. It is on the top, middle in a horse shoe shape. The rd. going all the way up the picture to the left would be Dix, Sibley runs horizontally through the middle & Telegraph & it's over pass run on an angle to the right. I-75 come to an end at Sibley. This would be a great photo to order in one of the large poster sizes for somebody for Christmas. You can order the poster rolled or mounted & ready to hang. Wish we could turn back the clocks to this era but with these photo's we can do that. .
Another great shot of the farmland that once surrounded Detroit Dragway. Here we see Sibley going up the left with Dix/Toldedo Rd. over pass gong over the incompleted I-75 as it was being built & ended at Sibley. It'll never look like this again. Detroit Dragway is above the over pass beyond the pines.
Sibley Rd. is going straight up the middle of this great 3x5 size large format negative. Telegraph is the Rd. that has the two over passes on the right middle of the picture and those over passes are going over top of I-75 when it was still being built. I guess Dix Rd. goes along that path too because Detroit Dragway was right by Sibley & Dix. You can see where I-75 ends right up to Sibley Rd. Remember driving to Detroit Bob-lo Boat dock along West Jefferson & over the red coble stone rd. before I-75 existed? I do. Detroit Dragway is also on the right of this picture above the Telegraph over pass.
This photo show's Telegraph Rd. going over top of the incompleted I-75 Freeway which stops at around Sibley Rd. I remember going to Bob-lo Island with my Dad, Mom, sis & brother when I was small & taking West Jefferson all the way into Detroit to Woodward where the Red Cobble Stone Road took us by Cobo Hall. Dad took Jeffereson because I-75 was'nt built yet as you can see.
