Wonderland Park between Trenton Rd. & Fort St. off of Pennsylvania Rd. in Southgate, MI. Above is the Fort George Drive Inn & to the left some of the subdivision homes of Southgate. I know I remember going to a fair in that area in the early 1970's. whether it was there or in one of the Department Store parking lots like EJ Korvette, which has come & gone since this picture or Wards, but that was further down Trenton Rd. There is still a drive Inn on Ford Rd with 4 or 5 movie screens. It'll just never be the same as those old crackly speakers and the intermission ad's with the walking hamburger & coffee and the infamous cartoon about the mosquito zooming down until he starts getting sleepy by that spiral thing that burns. What was that called???
Wonderland Park was an Amusement Park located in Southgate, MI between Trenton Rd. and Fort St. just north of Pennsylvania Rd. Many remember those childhood days of carefree fun back when this picture was taken around 1959/60. Some of the rides remained throughout the 70's but it is now the southgate Ford Dealership.
