Craig Breedlove, was the 1st man to set the world Land Speed Record of 600 mph. in the Good Year "Spirit of America" November 15 with a clocking of 600.601. It was his 2nd record for 1965 & 5th in 3 years. Breedlove was also the 1st man to set records in excess of 400 & 500 mph. It takes under 6 seconds to travel one mile at 600 mph. The "Spirit of America's" instrument panel provided driver Breedlove, with vital info such as oil pressure, exhaust pressure, air speed, engine revolutions & jet nozzle position.
